In the courtyard of a villa in Budva, six alpacas were left locked up with an uncertain fate after their owner was arrested. Clearly undernourished and in need of veterinary care, the concerned villa staff contacted our shelter. The alpacas were on the brink of exhaustion, and the smallest among them was motionless. With a lot of paperwork and police assistance, we managed to secure their freedom.

We worked on their treatment and monitoring. The first sign of recovery was their clean fleece starting to grow again and the sparkle returning to their eyes. Soon, newborn babies arrived, bringing new energy to our team and delighting visitors with joyful hopping and mini stampedes as they ran to their favorite grazing spots.
