Gavrilo was found as a very young, freezing crow that had fallen from its nest. The people who found him provided warmth, food, and protection. Over time, he became strongly attached to his new “family,” but that attachment turned into highly protective behavior. He began aggressively defending the household members and would not allow others near them. When he became dangerous both to people and himself, the family sought our help.
The first days at the shelter were difficult—Gavrilo was distrustful, refusing contact and food. The change began only when an older volunteer, a member of the family that had raised him, visited. His presence calmed Gavrilo, and he slowly started to accept his new environment.
He is still protective and bonded to “his” person, but now he lives in controlled and safe conditions, with the constant care of our team.
Due to his strong imprinting on humans, Gavrilo will not be able to return to the wild. However, in the spacious aviary of our shelter, he has everything he needs—safety, care, and an environment that respects his needs and unique personality.
