After the adult fox was killed by hunters, dogs discovered her den, where a hidden litter of cubs was found. People from a nearby village took them in, feeding them for several days as best they could, before calling our team.

We immediately took the cubs into our care and continued with intensive feeding and attention. Among them, one fox stood out—lively, curious, and fearless. We named him Živko. With his energy and mischievous look, he quickly won the hearts of our staff and volunteers.

Today, Živko lives together with three other foxes in a fenced, natural part of the forest within our shelter. He is recognizable by his curiosity and playfulness, and he always greets our volunteers with trust and that characteristic “smile” foxes show when they feel safe.

Živko’s story reminds us how important it is to provide help when wild animals are left unprotected—and how quickly love, care, and safety can change their lives.
